Author Fees (APC) & Waiver Policy

This page explains the Article Processing Charge (APC), what it covers, available waivers/discounts, and how to request financial assistance for Biznomik: Journal of Business & Economic Studies.

No submission fee. APC is charged only for accepted articles and has no influence on editorial decisions.

1. Introduction

To support high-quality open access publishing, Biznomik applies an Article Processing Charge (APC) for accepted papers. The APC supports sustainable peer review, professional copyediting & typesetting, persistent identifiers, and long-term archiving. Waivers and discounts are provided to ensure equitable access for authors worldwide.

2. APC Summary

APC is payable only after acceptance. The amount below is the standard APC and may be updated by the editorial office.

  • Article Processing Charge (APC): IDR 300.000 per accepted article
  • Applies to: All authors (Indonesia & International)
  • Article types: Research articles, review articles, short communications, notes, and other eligible submissions
  • No submission fee • No page charges • No color figure charges
  • Fast-track review: Not offered. All manuscripts follow the standard editorial and peer-review process.
Institutional agreements or special issue arrangements may override the standard APC. Authors will be informed of any such arrangements in the acceptance decision letter.

3. What the APC Covers

  • Coordinated double-blind peer review and editorial management
  • Professional copyediting, light English polishing, and reference checks
  • Typesetting & XML/HTML/PDF production and figure/table quality control
  • Persistent identifiers and indexing metadata distribution
  • Website hosting, platform maintenance, and long-term archiving
  • Immediate open access upon publication

4. What the APC Does Not Cover

  • Major language rewriting or full translation services
  • Extensive artwork redrawing, infographic design, or data curation
  • Author-side costs such as conference fees or external consulting
  • Bank or currency conversion fees during payment

5. Waiver & Discounts

Biznomik is committed to inclusive and equitable publishing. All waiver and discount decisions are needs-based and do not affect editorial decisions.

  • Full Waiver (100%): Corresponding authors from low-income countries (World Bank classification) or manuscripts without external funding and with strong justification.
  • Partial Waiver (50%): Authors from lower-middle-income countries or student-led manuscripts without grants.
  • Need-Based Discount (25%): Early-career researchers, independent scholars, or institutions with limited funding.
  • Special Issue / Invited Papers: As agreed in advance with the editorial office.
Supporting documents may be requested. Waiver decisions are communicated before invoicing.

6. How to Request a Waiver

  • When: At submission or immediately after acceptance (before invoicing).
  • How: Email [email protected] with subject “Biznomik Waiver Request”.
  • Include: Manuscript title, submission ID, corresponding author details, affiliation, country, funding status, and justification (≤ 200 words).
  • Timeline: Decisions are typically issued within 5–7 business days.

7. Payment & Invoicing

  • Invoice: Issued only after acceptance and waiver decision (if applicable).
  • Payment methods: Bank transfer or virtual account; online payment gateway if available.
  • Due date: Within 10 business days of invoice issuance.
  • Receipt: Sent to the corresponding author after payment confirmation.

8. Refund & Cancellation

  • No APC is due if a manuscript is withdrawn before invoicing.
  • After payment, refunds are generally not provided except for editorial or administrative errors.

9. Editorial Independence & OA Policy

  • Editorial decisions are based solely on academic merit and peer review.
  • Ability to pay has no influence on editorial outcomes.
  • All articles are published open access under a recommended CC BY 4.0 license.
  • Self-archiving in repositories is permitted.
