Archiving (Long-Term Preservation & Archival Policy)

Biznomik: Journal of Business & Economic Studies is committed to ensuring the long-term availability of all published content through a combination of networked preservation (PKP PN/LOCKSS), DOI metadata deposits, OAI-PMH interoperability, and scheduled backups.

This page describes the systems in use, the scope of materials preserved, and the policies related to archiving, retractions, and author self-archiving.

1. Preservation Statement

All articles published by Biznomik are preserved as the version of record together with their metadata and related supplementary materials where applicable. Preservation safeguards against loss of content due to technical failures, service discontinuation, or unforeseen events.

Scope includes: the final article (PDF/galley), article metadata (including DOI), supporting files (supplementary/appendices) where available, and author-provided references.

2. Systems & Mechanisms

  • PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN) / LOCKSS. The journal participates in the Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe (LOCKSS) network via PKP PN to ensure distributed, redundant copies across partner nodes.
  • Crossref DOI & metadata deposits. Each article receives a Crossref DOI. Rich metadata (license, ROR affiliations, ORCID, funding, references, and—where relevant—data/software citations) are deposited to enhance discoverability and long-term resilience.
  • File formats. The public version is provided in PDF (PDF/A preferred where available). Additional formats (e.g., XML/JATS, datasets, or code) are archived when supplied.

3. Interoperability & OAI-PMH

Article metadata can be harvested through the OAI-PMH protocol for indexing and retrieval by search engines and third-party databases.

  • OAI-PMH Base URL: https://journal.fajarpos.com/index/oai
  • Available formats follow OJS/PKP capabilities (e.g., oai_dc / Dublin Core; other formats if enabled).
  • Common harvesters include: Google Scholar (via crawling), GARUDA, DOAJ, and compatible indexing services.

4. Backups & Disaster Recovery

The journal server operates a policy of regular backups and monitoring to minimize the risk of data loss. Backups include the OJS database, uploaded files (galleys/supplementary), and core configuration.

Recommended practices include: daily incremental backups, weekly full backups, and storage of backup copies in an off-site location. Recovery follows a documented disaster recovery procedure.

5. Self-Archiving & Preprints

Biznomik follows an open-access policy. Authors are permitted to self-archive in institutional or subject repositories for the preprint and accepted manuscript versions. For the version of record (published PDF), please include the article DOI and the journal’s CC BY 4.0 license.

  • Always include a citation to the journal version and the DOI link.
  • If any sponsor embargo or special conditions apply, please comply and state them in the article note.

6. Retractions, Corrections & Removal

  • Corrections/Errata/Addenda. Issued when necessary to remedy errors that do not alter the principal conclusions.
  • Retractions. Issued in cases of serious ethical breaches (e.g., plagiarism, data fabrication) or fatal errors affecting the findings.
  • File removal. In rare cases (e.g., legal/safety implications), an article may be withdrawn from public access; a tombstone page is retained for the bibliographic record.
