Author Guidelines

Journal of JAFA

Before You Submit

Please review the responsibilities, editorial pathway, and checklist below to ensure a smooth submission.

Submissions are first screened by an editor for fit with the journal’s aims & scope. Suitable manuscripts proceed to double-blind peer review.

1. Overview

Authors are invited to make a submission to this journal. All submissions will be assessed by an editor to determine whether they meet the aims and scope of the journal. Manuscripts deemed suitable will be sent for peer review before a decision is made to accept or reject.

Important: Ensure your study design, argumentation, title, and abstract are clear and coherent. A concise title and a stand-alone abstract increase the likelihood that expert reviewers agree to evaluate your paper.

2. Responsibilities & Permissions

  • Obtain permission to publish any third-party content included with your submission (e.g., photos, figures, documents, datasets, software).
  • Ensure that all listed authors consent to be identified as authors and approve the submitted version.
  • Where appropriate, secure ethics approval from a relevant committee in accordance with the legal requirements of the study’s country (include the committee name and approval code).

3. Editorial Handling

An editor may desk reject a submission if it does not meet minimum quality standards or falls outside the scope. Submissions that pass editorial screening will undergo double-blind peer review by at least two independent reviewers. Decisions (accept / revise / reject) are communicated with reasons.

4. Formatting & Readiness

  • Follow the journal’s Author Guidelines for structure, formatting, references, and declarations.
  • Use a consistent citation style (e.g., APA 7th) and include DOI links where available; ensure in-text citations match the reference list.
  • Number and label all tables/figures; cite them in the text; provide images at appropriate resolution.
  • Prepare a stand-alone abstract and ensure your argument is logically structured and clearly articulated.
