Akademia: Journal of Education & Innovation is a peer-reviewed academic journal dedicated to advancing research and scholarship in education and innovation. It serves as a global platform for educators, researchers, and policymakers to explore and disseminate knowledge on emerging trends, methodologies, and transformative practices. By connecting established theory with pedagogical and technological innovation, Akademia contributes to shaping the future of learning and knowledge dissemination.

The journal accommodates a broad range of topics, including (but not limited to):

3. Article Types

  • Original Research (max 15 pages) — empirical/theoretical contributions.
  • Review Articles (max 20 pages) — systematic/scoping reviews, meta-analyses.
  • Design-Based Research / Intervention Studies — iterative designs, implementation, evaluation.
  • Short Communications — concise reports of timely innovations or pilot findings.
  • Practice & Innovation Reports — evidence-informed pedagogical or EdTech practice.
  • Methods Notes / Datasets — instruments, protocols, curated datasets for educational research.
  • Replication Studies — confirmatory work strengthening generalizability and robustness.
Page limits exclude appendices and supplementary files hosted in repositories.

4. Editorial & Peer Review

  • Process: double-blind peer review with ≥ 2 independent reviewers.
  • Integrity: similarity screening (Turnitin/iThenticate); redundant publication and self-plagiarism are prohibited.
  • Ethics: studies with human participants (including minors, teachers, students) require ethics approval and informed consent/assent; protect privacy and data security.
  • Transparency: authors provide CRediT roles, funding, conflicts of interest, data availability, and (where applicable) preregistration.

5. Open Access & Licensing

Akademia provides immediate open access to all content to support a global exchange of knowledge. Articles are published under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International (CC BY 4.0), permitting sharing and adaptation with appropriate credit.

6. Archiving & Preservation

Long-term digital preservation is ensured through PKP PN/LOCKSS. Article metadata and full-text are interoperable and can be harvested via OAI-PMH.

7. Data, Code & Materials

  • Deposit data, code, instruments, and materials (where legally/ethically possible) in trusted repositories (e.g., Zenodo, OSF, Figshare) with a DOI/URL.
  • Cite datasets/software in the References using recognized data/software citation formats.
  • De-identify sensitive educational data and provide a restricted-access statement if full open sharing is not possible, along with a repository record.

8. Indexing & Metadata

  • All accepted articles receive a Crossref DOI; DOI activation occurs before or at online publication.
  • Rich metadata (license, ORCID, ROR affiliations, funding, references, and data/software citations) are deposited to Crossref.

9. Submission & Template

  1. Prepare your manuscript per the Author Guidelines (structured abstract, references with DOIs, CRediT, ethics, data availability).
  2. Use the official template (.docx) and ensure figures/tables are cited and captioned.
  3. Register/Login to OJS and complete metadata (authors’ ORCID, affiliations with ROR, funding).
  4. Upload the main manuscript, figures/tables (sources as requested), and supplementary files (data/code DOIs, checklists, approvals).
